October 18 7pm: A Sting in the Tale with Prof. Dave Goulson

CPRE Sussex Book Club brings together readers with a love of our beautiful countryside

Join us online as we discuss Dave Goulson’s brilliant and passionate account of his attempt to reintroduce the extinct short-haired bumblebee back to its native land  in company with Dave himself. This thrilling book contains groundbreaking research into these curious creatures, history’s relationship with the bumblebee, as well as the disastrous effects intensive farming has had on our bee populations – and the potential dangers if we are to continue down this path.

The CPRE Sussex Book Club is a way that we can come together over books. We’ll also be discussing his latest bestseller, Silent Earth, Averting the Insect Apocalypse.

In the CPRE Sussex Book Club, we feature books set in the Sussex countryside, books about country life and books about our natural history and the science behind conserving our contriside. If you have a suggestion for a book for us to read together or an author to invite, please let us know.

This event is FREE to CPRE Sussex members. Non members: £7.50
