Local transport
We want reduced car dependency and better public transport in Sussex.
We need to tackle emissions from transport to meet our aim of net-zero carbon emissions by 2045. Keeping cars off the roads will reduce both greenhouse gas emissions, which cause climate change, and other pollutants harmful for health. In our communities and new housing schemes we should plan for sustainable development so that people can access local services by foot, cycling or public transport, instead needing to drive. More buses can also help to reduce loneliness and social isolation in the countryside.
